Address: ul. Nadbystrzycka 40A, 20-618 Lublin, room 130,
Building of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture (WBiA)
Nadbystrzycka 40
20-618 Lublin
Parking
Parking spaces are painted blue and correctly marked.
If you wish to use the parking lot, you must arrange this option in advance, as vehicles without a license plate registered in the system cannot enter the Lublin University of Technology grounds.
Assistance Dogs
You can come with an assistance dog or a guide dog. Please remember to bring the assistance dog certificate and vaccination record.
Building Entrance
The building has 6 floors and is located at 40 Nadbystrzycka Street. It has one main entrance located on the right side of the long glass panel of the building (at the very end) and one emergency exit at the back of the building.
The entrance is at ground level. There are no obstacles to wheelchair access.
a. Architectural accessibility of the building for people with mobility impairments
The area surrounding the WBiA building is adapted for people with mobility problems [there are no height differences or any terrain obstacles]. Parking spaces for people with mobility impairments are located on the other side of the building [in front of the CENTECH building] and are marked in accordance with regulations.
The facility has a roof over the entrance to protect against rain. There are no objects in front of the entrance that could hinder entry. The building is architecturally adapted to the needs of students and employees with mobility impairments (wheelchair, crutches, walker) [no ramp is needed for the main entrance]; elevators are available in the building, providing easy access to lecture and exercise rooms on individual floors. They are located on the left side of the main entrance, in the hall with artistic exhibitions, and on the right side, next to the staircase. The path to these elevators is properly marked with information signs. The corridors have sufficient width to allow comfortable movement for people in wheelchairs.
There are resting areas (benches) in the building, which can also be used by people in wheelchairs.
The toilet for people with disabilities is located at the very end of the right part of the hall (after passing the porter's lodge), on its left side, next to the women's toilet.
b. Architectural accessibility of the building for people with visual impairments
The exterior surroundings of the WBiA Building do not have a guidance system made of ribbed and studded plates (TGSI), nor any type of raised maps (tactile graphics) to facilitate orientation for blind people. Inside, system doormats with rubber and brush cleaning inserts set in aluminum profiles are present, creating a tactile impression. Adaptation works are underway as part of the "Open for everyone, accessible for all..." project.
The entrance zone is not cluttered with unnecessary elements that hinder movement or visual orientation – advertisements, information posters, or lighting that is too dark or glaring.
The light gray corridor walls, dark gray floor tiles, and glass doors in light gray frames do not provide significant color contrast for the visually impaired. Some parts of the building are in semi-darkness.
The corridor flooring is non-slip, which is useful for people with visual and mobility impairments.
There are no yellow stripes painted on the entrance doors or internal glass doors; instead, there are white stripes (hardly visible). This does not provide sufficient contrast for people with visual impairments. The only contrast element is red icons. On the Library doors, located at the end of the large exhibition hall (left of the entrance), there is also no clearly contrasting strip; a board with a black background and yellow room numbers and opening hours is required (adaptation process started).
There are no raised/tactile maps in the building to facilitate orientation for blind people. Adaptation works are underway as part of the "Open for everyone, accessible for all..." project.
The doors are always open.
The doors must be opened manually.
Space Beyond the Entrance
The space is usually quiet and peaceful.
The room is well-lit.
The service point is equipped with an induction loop.
Sign language interpretation services are available at the service point.
Horizontal Routes
All corridors are accessible.
Vertical Routes
You can use the elevator.
Elevator
Elevator doors open automatically.
The elevator is located inside the building.
The elevator has voice announcements.
Rooms
All rooms are accessible to wheelchair users.
Bathroom
There is a toilet accessible to people with disabilities in the building.
The door opens outwards.
Communication and Information Accessibility
An induction loop is available at the CINT Lending Library located in the Centre for Innovation and Advanced Technologies (room 308), where a computer workstation equipped with devices for people with special needs has also been prepared. Sign language interpreter services are available in the buildings of the Lublin University of Technology upon prior request by the person needing support (2-3 business days in advance).
